333. Robert Bloomfield to Robert Baldwin and Co., 11 April 1819*

Shefford, April 11, 1819

To Messrs Baldwin & Co.

Gentlemen

Pray be not alarm'd at the small request I have to make. I have a worthy Brother living at the corner of Gloucester St. & Curtain Road who is in danger of trouble for a small debt leading to the ruin of his business and distress of his Children. I have therefore written to him to call upon you on tuesday next when I beg that however my affairs stand with you that you will advance him £20 on my account, for if the jails of England were to hold none but such men, more than half of them might be Let for Storehouses and Workshops. I am very earnest in my request, and hope that no abruptness of informality will stop your favour when he brings this letter with him

I am Gentn. Your Humble Servt.

Robt. Bloomfield
