1773. Robert Southey to Grosvenor Charles Bedford, 24 April 1810

1773. Robert Southey to Grosvenor Charles Bedford, 24 April 1810 *

My dear Grosvenor

At last you have the end of Kehama. [1]  A good many important alterations have been made in the printed copy, & one interpolation of considerable length is in my judgement among the best parts of the poem. I rather wish than expect to mend the conclusion, – to make Ereenia do something when Kehama takes the cup, – & not to seperate the Father & Daughter, – but I do not see how to do <manage> this, tho I have long been hoping some way would open upon me, – & now Time & the Printer are pressing. [2]

Write me a line, if but a line, to say how you are –

RS.

April 24. 1810.
