1969. Robert Southey to Walter Savage Landor, 19 October 1811

1969. Robert Southey to Walter Savage Landor, 19 October 1811 *

Keswick. Oct. 19. 1811.

Send Count Julian as soon as you please to Mr Murray, Fleet Street, & he will be your publisher. [1]

I told him that I should recommend it to you to print only 250 copies, – because the play would be highly admired by the few, but probably not popular, – being too good for the many. – In the latter part of t part of this opinion I may be mistaken, – so much the better; in the first I cannot.

I write in haste not to lose a single post. – A large portion of Pelayo [2]  will set off tomorrow in quest of a frank.

RS.
