Dear Grosvenor

I had a daughter born yesterday, & all’s well.

You may keep these mss. [1]  as long as you please. Show them to Gifford & report to me his remarks. And when you have entirely done with them, consign them over to the Doctor.

Sendez-vous me some money as soon as you can, for I am pauperrimus [2]
