79. Robert Southey to Grosvenor Charles Bedford, [c. early 1794] *

I am just jumped out of bed half naked to write a line & half by Edmund Seward. to say that I am well — particularly obliged to Mrs B to whom now time is allowed I will prepare a letter acknowledgement in my next. that I have had an Imposition. astonishd John Davey — frightend the fellows — & translated a sermon. that I attend Dr Pegge without being sick — that Wynn lost his supper last night — Kidd his British herb — Lamb his pipe & all my company. that I am very sleepy.

Do write if but a line & tell me how poor Kate is. I wish much to write to Mrs D but cannot on the uncertainty. I mentioned this in my last to Horace. send him down to enter with Edmund Seward. write soon & believe me your half awakened half dressd half starved half witted but wholly sincere friend

Robert Southey.

I shall have some Botany Bay eclogues [1]  for you ere long.

Mr Thorp is well. his sons os coccygis [2]  continues growing.
