3263. Robert Southey to George Ticknor, 11 March 1819 *

Keswick. March 11. 1819.

My dear Sir

I am at home, & shall be truly glad to see you, for as long a time as you can make it convenient to stay. It is not in my power to offer you a bed, as I should otherwise have done, – because owing to the recent birth [1]  of a child I am myself quartered in the strangers room, – but the inn is within five minutes walk, & it will be give me great pleasure to offer you all other offices of hospitality.

I had forgotten your name till I recovered it from Mr Everett in the spring of last year. [2]  Nothing else had slipt my remembrance.

yrs faithfully

Robert Southey.
