Poets on Poets: Bosselaar reading Blake

This week Romantic Circles' Poets on Poets series publishes MP3 audio files of Laure-Anne Bosselaar reading Wiliam Blake's "The Garden of Love" and "Mock on, Mock on, Voltaire, Rousseau." Bosselaar teaches a graduate poetry workshop at Sarah Lawrence College and is author of, among other titles, The Hour Between Dog and Wolf and Small Gods of Grief, and is winner of the Isabella Gardner Prize for Poetry for 2001.

New Audio file at RC: Fanning reading Clare

Poets on Poets, Romantic Circles' new and growing MP3 audio archive, is pleased to announce this week's publication, Roger Fanning reading John Clare's "Trespass." There are links to a biography of Fanning and to the text of Clare's poem, and you can either listen on the Web page or download the MP3 file to your computer or iPod (or other portable player). The Romantic Circles Poets on Poets audio archive publishes weekly MP3s--contemporary poets reading romantic poems. You can listen and download the files for use on your computer or iPod, and follow links to a brief biography of the reader and to the text of the poem he or she is reading. This week, we've posted Richard Fammerée reading Keats's "Ode on a Grecian Urn" and last week Elise Paschen reading "To Autumn" went online. You can follow the link from the site to be added to the mailing list if you'd like to be notified when new weekly installments are made available.

Romantic Circles is delighted to announce the release of Poets on Poets, a major new audio archive devoted to gathering recordings of Romantic-period poems read by contemporary poets. The inaugural readings, just released, include Robert Pinsky reciting Keats's "Ode to a Nightingale." as well as other recitations you can see below. In the preface to the archive, Jerome McGann reflects upon "Recitation Considered as a Fine Art."

New readings will be added weekly, podcast-style, with over 100 forthcoming recordings by poets including Rae Armantrout, Lyn Heninian, Stephen McCaffery, Ira Sadoff, Rachel Blau Du Plessis, Charles Bernstein, Stanley Plumly, Molly Peacock, Cleopatra Mathis, and Rod Mengham.
