1942. Robert Southey to Walter Savage Landor, 2 August 1811

1942. Robert Southey to Walter Savage Landor, 2 August 1811 *
Bristol. Aug. 2. 1811.
We arrived here yesterday, – being two days later than I had intended. I must away to Taunton upon some business of no very pleasant nature, [1] – but on Monday se’nnight, that is – Monday the 12th we purpose setting off for the vale of Ewias, – where I hope we shall arrive about night fall. – Let me have a line to say whether you can receive us at that time; – two days I can remain at Lanthony on the third we must reach Ludlow. Weary of London & hating all large towns, it will refresh me, both soul & body, to breathe the air of the mountains once more.
God bless you
R Southey.
