My dear Sir
I am sorry to discover a page which by some means or other has got three lines of pure nonsense in it. It must be cancelled, & I have so managed the transpositions, omissions, & additions, as to make them fill the leaf. The four final revises are returned by this nights post.
As soon as the book [1] is published, will you have the goodness to send copies in my name to Turner, Duppa, John May Esqr. 4. Tavistock Street, Bedford Square, Mr Neville White 8 Wood Street Cheapside, Mr Rickman St Stephens Court, New Palace Yard. four copies to my Uncle the Revd. Herbert Hill, Rectory, Streatham. & six to Mr Grosvenor Bedford, Stafford Row, Buckingham Gate, – I forget his number, – but it may be known at Mr Giffords, – or they may be sent to the Exchequer. – Let me have four myself. – The book I fear comes a day after the fair; – the hue & cry is over, & we have only to hope that the merit which it has of giving a clear view of the New System may buoy up the controversial part, which must cease to be of any interest when the controversy is decided.
