If there should be any honour accruing from this life of Nelson, it will be of that kind which as Malvolio says, is forced upon us,  – for assuredly it is a subject in which it would never have occurred to me to engage. However I have gone thro it with great interest as well as great care, – & like it well enough to be glad that I have written it.
