My dear Sir

I send [1]  you a few pages respecting poor Barré Roberts, whose papers have <made> me respect him almost as much as if he had been personally known to me. The extracts will make the article amusing, – the mere fact that the book is unpublished gives a value to it & he has some claim to this little mark of respect in your journal. [2] 

I have much in hand for you & xx more in mind.
