1440. Robert Southey to Thomas Southey, [3 April 1808]

1440. Robert Southey to Thomas Southey, [3 April 1808] *

Taunton , Sunday

My dear Tom

Here I arrived last night. Tomorrow the assizes begin & I have good chance of seeing Poole. I write to him however to say that I shall walk over to Stowey on Tuesday. Wednesday I walk back – at least this is my present arrangement, for I do not see how else to arrange about my luggage satisfactorily, or how to get a dismal bundle of dirty linen washed. Thursday I depart for Bristol & will take a coach to Danvers’s. He will I dare say have provided a bed for me somewhere in his neighbourhood. He will engage me as he pleases for the three days of my stay, - & you will I hope be well able, as well as ready, to start for Birmingham by Sundays Mail.

God bless you

RS.
