James Chandler
James Chandler is the William K. Ogden Distinguished Service Professor in the Department of English and the Department of Cinema and Media Studies at the University of Chicago. He is currently working on a book about practical criticism across the literary arts and screen arts. His publications in Romantic studies include An Archaeology of Sympathy: The Sentimental Mode in Literature and Cinema (Chicago, 2013), The New Cambridge History of English Romantic Literature (ed. Cambridge UP, 2008), England in 1819: The Politics of Literary Culture and the Case of Romantic Historicism (Chicago, 1998), and Wordsworth’s Second Nature: A Study of the Poetry and Politics (Chicago, 1984). He is also General Editor Cambridge Studies in Romanticism for Cambridge University Press.
