Juliette Wells

Juliette Wells is associate professor and chair of English at Goucher College, where she teaches Austen at all undergraduate levels, including a course in reception studies for Goucher’s Book Studies minor. A frequent speaker to both academic and non-academic audiences, she is the author of Everybody’s Jane: Austen and the Popular Imagination (Bloomsbury Academic, 2011) as well as numerous journal articles and book chapters on Austen’s works and cultural legacy, notably “New Approaches to Austen and the Popular Reader,” in Uses of Austen: Jane’s Afterlives (2012). Her current book project is a reception history, Austen in America: Readers, Reception, Reinvention.
