William McCarthy

William McCarthy is the author of Anna Letitia Barbauld, Voice of the Enlightenment (Johns Hopkins UP, 2008); co-editor, with Elizabeth Kraft, of Anna Letitia Barbauld: Selected Poetry and Prose (Broadview Press, 2002); and General Editor of The Collected Works of Anna Letitia Barbauld, to be published in four volumes by Oxford University Press. Volume One, The Poems, Revised (2019), edited by McCarthy, updates The Poems of Anna Letitia Barbauld, edited by McCarthy and Kraft (Georgia, 1994). McCarthy is also the author of Hester Thrale Piozzi: Portrait of a Literary Woman (North Carolina, 1985), co-editor of The Meridian Anthology of Early Women Writers: British Literary Women from Aphra Behn to Maria Edgeworth, 1660-1800 (New American Library, 1987), and author of articles on Barbauld and Piozzi.
