John Ogilvie

Dr. John Ogilvie (1733-1813), Presbyterian divine and author, one of a group of Scots literary clergy. Ogilvie was acquainted with Dr. Johnson and Boswell. He contributed poetry to magazines until his death in 1813. He is the author of Britannia: A National Epic Poem in Twenty Books (Aberdeen, 1801).
