Michele Speitz is Founding Director of the Furman Humanities Center and Associate Professor of English at Furman University. She specializes in eighteenth- and nineteenth-century British literature, with particular interests in Romanticism, aesthetics, poetics, ecocriticism, sound studies, and science and technology studies. She is author of The Romantic Sublime and Representations of Technology (Liverpool University Press, 2024). Her work also appears in such outlets as Studies in Romanticism, SEL: Studies in English Literature, Romantic Circles Praxis Series, Essays in Romanticism, European Romantic Review, and The Keats-Shelley Review.
