Zachary Samalin

Zachary Samalin is an Assistant Professor in the Department of English at New York University. His work focuses on British literature and culture of the nineteenth century, with a particular emphasis on the history of emotion and on the Victorian roots of critical and social theory. His book, The Masses Are Revolting (Cornell UP 2021) explores the history of disgust in the nineteenth century, and his published work has appeared in New Literary History, Criticism, Boundary2 Online, and Victorian Literature and Culture among other venues.
