has written to charge me with £2 – 3 – 6 for a box of candles sent in February 1821. – I dare say you will remember having ordered them a considerable time before that, (some months indeed) & that the quantity was determined by the sum remaining from a five pound bill, after payment of the cheese. May I request you to see the man, & set this matter to rights. – I am afraid he is not very accurate in his books.
I am sorry to be under the necessity of thus troubling you. My brothers family are all well, & fairly rid of the whooping cough; – the disease has found its way to Keswick, but we have hitherto escaped it. The next time you come into these parts, I trust there will be no such obstacle to prevent our having some enjoyment of your society. – Excuse the haste with which I write, & believe me to be
