My dear G.

Any farther arrangement with Chantrey

(1)

Sir Francis Chantrey wished to sculpt Southey. He did so in 1828.

is impracticable on my part, even if it were otherwise on his. I am sorry for it, for I should like much to have past a few hours in his company. My place is taken for Friday, – will you give me a beef stake on Tuesday, & ask nobody to meet me, that I may have a quiet comfortable evening with you & the Magister Rotulorum & Miss Page? – Answer by a line to Q. Anne Street, whither I return that morning.

God bless you
