Andrew Stauffer is a professor and the Chair of the Department of English at the University of Virginia. He is the author of Byron: A Life in Ten Letters (Cambridge, 2024) and the President of the Byron Society of America. He also authored Anger, Revolution, and Romanticism (Cambridge, 2005), and edited works by H. Rider Haggard (for Broadview) and Robert Browning (for Norton). He has published widely on nineteenth-century poetry, and is currently directing NINES (http://nines.org) and the Book Traces initiative (http://booktraces.org).
