Mary Morgan, née Gibbs (1749–1808), is the author of A Tour to Milford Haven, in 1791, published by John Stockdale in London (1795), andThe Knyghte the Golden Locks: An Ancyent Poem, Applicable to the Present Times (1799). Morgan is also the presumed anonymous author of Mary, the Osier-Peeler (1798). Born in 1749 to St. Mary’s Tower organist Joseph Gibbs and wife Mary, at Ipswich, Morgan remains relatively unknown but for what is refracted through the career of her husband, the Rev. Dr. Caesar Morgan (1750–1812).
