Michael O'Neill

Michael O'Neill is Chairman of the Department of English Studies at the University of Durham. His publications in Romantic Studies include Romanticism and the Self-Conscious Poem (1997), The Human Mind's Imaginings: Conflict and Achievement in Shelley's Poetry (1989), and Percy Bysshe Shelley: A Literary Life (1989). He has also served as editor for a variety of projects in the field, including Keats: Bicentenary Readings (1997), a volume of Bodleian Shelley Manuscripts (1994), published by Garland, and Literature of the Romantic Period: A Bibliographical Guide (1998). At present, he is co-editing Shelley for the Oxford Authors Series. Michael O'Neill has also written on twentieth century American poetry and published a collection of his own poetry, The Stripped Bed (1990).
