My dear Sir

I forgot to ask you when I wrote last for Kennetts Parochial Antiquities.

(1)

White Kennett (1660–1728; DNB), Parochial Antiquities Attempted in the History of Ambrosden, Burcester and Other Adjacent Parts in the Counties of Oxford and Bucks, with a Glossary of Obsolete Terms (1695). Southey needed this work for his The Book of the Church (1824).

If you cannot easily borrow the Camoens

(2)

Southey was reviewing John Adamson, Memoirs of the Life and Writings of Luis de Camoens (1820), no. 10 in the sale catalogue of Southey’s library, for Quarterly Review, 27 (April 1822), 1–39, published 4 July 1822. Southey had probably asked Murray to borrow either Jose Maria de Sousa Botelho Mourao e Vasconcelos (1758–1825), A Edição Monumental de Os Lusíades (1817), or Manuel de Faria e Sousa (1590–1649), Lusiadas de Luis Camoens (1639).

it is not of much consequence.

Yrs very truly

R Southey
